Associated Builders and Contractors of Georgia Selects Riverbend— Goal Achievement Workshop to be delivered to 2010 Future Leaders —
ATLANTA – OCTOBER 5, 2010 – The Riverbend Group, LLC, a people development company, today announced that it will be leading a goal achievement workshop for the 2010 Future Leaders of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Georgia, Inc.
Associated Builders and Contractor’s (ABC) Future Leaders Program is a year-long series of educational events designed to enhance the leadership skills and knowledge of young high-potential construction professionals. The program creates opportunities and provides avenues for young professionals to enhance their leadership abilities and increase involvement in ABC and the construction industry. Through eleven monthly educational sessions, peer-to-peer networking and community involvement, the Future Leaders Program prepares young professionals for leadership roles within their company and with ABC. Doreen Linneman, president of The Riverbend Group (Riverbend), will be leading the goal achievement workshop and she will be using her personal experiences as an Ironman triathlete to provide powerful evidence regarding the importance of goal setting and how to reach goal achievement. Doug Linneman, practice leader of construction and real estate for Riverbend, will be co-facilitating while lending his relevant experience to the discussion.
“We asked Riverbend to be a facilitator for our Future Leaders Program because we were intrigued by their unique approach to classroom instruction, which they refer to as Action-based LearningTM,” said Pat Dunwoody, vice president of education for ABC of Georgia. “We want our future leaders to leave these workshops with new skills and useable tools that will set them and their employers up for future success.
“Obviously setting goals is vital to one’s professional and personal success; however, as Abraham Lincoln once said, ‘a goal properly set is halfway reached,’” said Doreen Linneman. “Much of our workshop is focused on how people can see their goals realized.”
